“…. Should Not Play Tennis and Waste Time ....”
A girl student with low self-esteem and an introvert who was written off as a failure have the last laugh. She scored 68% in her 12th Board Exams.
This is the result of a blunt assessment of a teacher some 18 months back who remarked that “Ruchi is a Dodo and a below-average student who should not play tennis and waste time...”
We took it positively and faced all odds and had no cooperation from any side, however, we started to work on the basics on a war footing.
She had no tuition (her parents could not afford it) and studied on her own. Did Not go to school which did not seem to be productive (……… girl's school).
She continued her tennis deliberate practice daily for two hours (except Sundays ) and one hour of typing daily (at present her typing speed is 45WPM and accuracy 98%)
At first, her English teacher ignored her that she is no good; nevertheless, she scored the highest marks in her class.
Lesson - "Let your racket do all the talking .... Actions speak louder than voice. God gives equal talent to all. How you value it and use it, is the winner in life."
This short journey of Ruchi is all about fighting for your DIGNITY.
An introvert girl from a humble family background fought for her DIGNITY. She has realized that a ‘Dignified’ life can be achieved by a tool called “Being Comfortable in an Uncomfortable Zone"
The killers of your dreams are – Laziness, Procrastination, and Excuses. The world-class is comfortable with uncomfortable situations
Dignity
"I leave the court, leave the tournament with the head very high. I fight until the last ball. I fought until the last second of the match, and I'm proud of it." - Carlos Alcaraz said after losing his bout against Alexander Zverez
A Dignity is a powerful tool because it is rooted in respect. When we show dignity to others, we are acknowledging their worth as individuals. This sends a strong message that we believe in their ability to contribute and succeed. Dignity is also a great motivator. When we know that we are respected and valued, we are more likely to put forth our best effort. This is why so many successful people credit their success to the support of loved ones who believed in them. So, if you want to be a winner in life, start by showing dignity to yourself and others. It's a quality that will take you far!
There is no greater feeling than stepping onto the tennis court and giving it everything you have. It is a place where you can be yourself and just let go. Let the game flow through you and become one with your racquet. This is what it means to be a tennis warrior. It is not about winning or losing, but about the journey. It is about the journey to becoming the best version of you.
Every day you step on the court is an opportunity to grow and learn. You will have good days and bad days, but it is how you handle the bad days that will define you as a player. If you can learn to pick yourself up after a tough loss and keep moving forward, then you are well on your way to becoming a true tennis warrior. It is not an easy task, but it is worth the effort.
So, be brave. Be dignified. Be a tennis warrior. Tennis is a sport that requires a great deal of skill and athleticism. It is also a sport that requires a great deal of mental toughness. If you want to be a successful tennis player, you need to be able to handle the ups and downs of the game with dignity and grace.
Comfortable with Uncomfortable
It's either comfort or growth..... You can't have both...
Tennis warriors are comfortable with uncomfortable. They chose to be in the enduring zone rather than remaining in the emerging zone. Tennis warriors believe in deliberate practice and know that it is challenging and uncomfortable.
Comfortable with uncomfortable is a mantra that tennis warriors live by. They know that to become experts in their game, they have to commit to deliberate practice - even if it's challenging and uncomfortable. Tennis warriors know that the key to success is to embrace the discomfort of deliberate practice. They understand that it's through this commitment that they will reach their goals and become the best players they can be.
But what if I told you that discomfort is a good thing? Think about it - when was the last time you made a significant change in your life without feeling at least a little uncomfortable? Probably never, right? That's because change is uncomfortable. It's natural to resist something that makes us feel uneasy. But here's the thing: without discomfort, we would never grow or change. We would never step outside of our comfort zones and we would never reach our full potential.
So if you're feeling uncomfortable while practicing, don't worry - you're on the right track. Embrace the discomfort and keep moving forward towards your goals. You'll be glad you did!
